Words from Our Pastor - Week of November 16, 2025

Prepared to Prosper

To adequately prepare for the long game one must plan. Just as a farmer cannot eat all the seeds harvested the present year without jeopardizing next year's crops, neither can we afford to exhaust all of our resources without compromising our future growth.

Planning for the long game means more than just thinking about immediate needs; it requires strategic thinking, patience, and the discipline to set aside a portion of what we have today for tomorrow. Just as a farmer carefully divides the harvest into what will be consumed and what will be preserved as seed, we must also balance enjoying the fruits of our labor with saving and investing in our future. This includes spiritual development, personal development, financial savings, cultivating relationships, and maintaining physical and mental health.

When we fail to plan and consume everything in the present, we may experience temporary satisfaction, but we risk creating scarcity or instability in the future. On the other hand, by intentionally preserving resources for future "planting," we create resilience, ensure continued progress, and establish a foundation upon which we can grow year after year. Preparing for the long game is not a one-time act; it is a mindset, a habit, and a commitment to valuing the future as much as the present.

Power House, we still have work to do - let's accelerate!

Yours in Christ,

Dr. Odell Riley, DMin

Senior Pastor

Proverbs 20:4

The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
